Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.55% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 6.49% or 0.390 points to trade at 6.400 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) added 1.99% or 3.100 points to end at 158.600 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 1.89% or 0.010 points to 0.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 4.25% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.315 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 1.79% or 0.040 points to end at 2.200 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 1.47% or 0.010 points to 0.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.59% or 1.68 to $45.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $46.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.59% or 7.90 to trade at $1343.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2788, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6353.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 96.36.
