Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 7.00% or 0.360 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 5.53% or 0.021 points to end at 0.401 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 2.94% or 0.020 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minsur (LM:MINi), which lost 2.54% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.150 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 2.04% or 0.004 points to end at 0.192 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 1.92% or 0.490 points to 25.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.22% or 1.31 to $60.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.33% or 1.53 to hit $67.15 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.79% or 9.30 to trade at $1192.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.04% to 3.1528, while EUR/PEN rose 1.16% to 3.5477.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.70.
