Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverage and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General rose 2.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 7.27% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.590 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) added 6.43% or 1.320 points to end at 21.850 and Rio Alto Minin (LM:RIO) was up 4.02% or 0.100 points to 2.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luna Gold (LM:LGC), which lost 15.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.170 in late trade. Scotiabank Peru SAA (LM:SCO) declined 1.25% or 0.300 points to end at 23.700 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 0.62% or 0.030 points to 4.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 4 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.38% or 2.08 to $49.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.95% or 1.62 to hit $56.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.78% or 21.10 to trade at $1204.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.10% to 3.0945, while EUR/PEN rose 0.16% to 3.3279.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 98.53.
