Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 1.98% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.030 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) added 1.54% or 2.99 points to end at 197.20 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 1.11% or 0.43 points to 39.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which lost 5.41% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 4.76% or 0.006 points to end at 0.120 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 3.03% or 0.010 points to 0.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 6 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.68% or 1.31 to $47.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.55 to trade at $1287.45 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2438, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8255.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 93.34.
