Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 6.38% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.50 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 3.89% or 0.22 points to end at 5.88 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was up 2.35% or 0.2 points to 8.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which lost 0.66% or 0.2 points to trade at 28.6 in late trade. DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) declined 0.63% or 0.06 points to end at 9.46 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) shed 0.63% or 0.20 points to 31.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 59 and 23 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.71% or 0.35 to $49.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.80 to trade at $1266.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.85% to 9.2880, while USD/NOK fell 1.51% to 8.1722.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 93.46.
