Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Capital Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA), which rose 6.87% or 29.40 points to trade at 457.40 at the close. Grieg Seafood (OL:GSFO) added 5.99% or 6.40 points to end at 113.30 and SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) was up 5.02% or 23.00 points to 480.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 4.53% or 2.50 points to trade at 52.52 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 3.03% or 0.40 points to end at 12.65 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) shed 2.65% or 5.15 points to 189.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 85 and 26 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.88% or 1.34 to $47.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.29% or 1.29 to hit $57.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.40 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.26% to 9.8980, while USD/NOK fell 0.74% to 8.6676.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 96.123.
