Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Auto & components, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were BW Offshore Ltd (OL:BWO), which rose 5.49% or 2.050 points to trade at 39.400 at the close. DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) added 5.17% or 0.75 points to end at 15.14 and Leroy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) was up 4.34% or 2.8 points to 66.4 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which lost 2.23% or 4.05 points to trade at 177.95 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 2.15% or 0.37 points to end at 16.83 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) shed 0.67% or 0.9 points to 134.2.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 74 and 24 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 4.84% or 2.41 to $52.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 4.16% or 2.44 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1289.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.13% to 9.7656, while USD/NOK fell 0.84% to 8.4756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 94.958.
