Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.95% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS), which rose 4.18% or 4.20 points to trade at 104.70 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 2.38% or 1.60 points to end at 68.92 and Var Energi ASA (OL:VAR) was up 2.37% or 0.84 points to 36.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NAS), which lost 11.56% or 1.43 points to trade at 10.90 in late trade. Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (OL:KOG) declined 1.65% or 18.00 points to end at 1,074.00 and Hoegh Autoliners ASA (OL:HAUTO) shed 0.72% or 1.00 points to 137.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 159 to 126 and 20 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.88% or 0.65 to $74.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.81% or 0.63 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.65 to trade at $2,679.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was unchanged 0.04% to 11.70, while USD/NOK rose 0.61% to 10.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 102.27.
