Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Media and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 5.39% or 1.2 points to trade at 24.2 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) added 5.05% or 0.7 points to end at 14.6 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 3.02% or 0.50 points to 17.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 2.37% or 0.70 points to trade at 28.80 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.46% or 4.6 points to end at 310.3 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) shed 1.45% or 0.75 points to 51.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 72 and 22 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.05% or 0.44 to $41.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.08% or 0.48 to hit $43.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.62% or 22.15 to trade at $1345.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.26% to 9.4231, while USD/NOK rose 0.76% to 8.5055.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.24.
