Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which rose 10.19% or 1.53 points to trade at 16.54 at the close. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 4.76% or 0.30 points to end at 6.60 and Firstcity Bnk (LAGOS:FCMB) was up 3.60% or 0.05 points to 1.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which lost 4.97% or 1.14 points to trade at 22.59 in late trade. Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) declined 4.89% or 0.78 points to end at 15.17 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) shed 4.67% or 0.25 points to 5.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 13 and 67 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.89% or 0.43 to $47.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.07% or 0.52 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1251.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.04% to 223.290, while USD/NGN fell 0.04% to 199.150.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 95.24.
