Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 2.80% or 1.12 points to trade at 41.12 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 2.74% or 0.40 points to end at 15.00 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 2.66% or 0.17 points to 6.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which lost 3.39% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.570 in late trade. Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) declined 2.07% or 0.29 points to end at 13.70 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) shed 1.92% or 0.74 points to 37.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 33 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.20% or 0.57 to $48.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $53.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.11% or 15.00 to trade at $1336.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.74% to 431.810, while USD/NGN rose 0.42% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 91.82.
