Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT), which rose 3.62% or 1.45 points to trade at 41.35 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 2.88% or 0.040 points to end at 1.410 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 1.39% or 0.010 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which lost 8.21% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.65 in late trade. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.76% or 10.00 points to end at 200.00 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) shed 3.08% or 1.20 points to 37.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 40 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.07% or 0.78 to $73.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.31 to hit $77.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1255.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.17% to 421.440, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 93.76.
