Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 2.56% or 0.40 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 2.15% or 0.50 points to end at 23.75 and Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) was up 2.03% or 2.00 points to 100.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which lost 4.76% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.990 in late trade. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.35% or 11.00 points to end at 242.00 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) shed 4.20% or 2.39 points to 54.16.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 39 to 34 and 21 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.76% or 1.37 to $50.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.70% or 0.95 to hit $56.74 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.95 to trade at $1293.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.31% to 424.140, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 93.06.
