Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 9.11% or 1.44 points to trade at 17.24 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 4.29% or 0.070 points to end at 1.700 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 3.68% or 1.49 points to 40.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS), which lost 2.30% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.76 in late trade. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) declined 1.79% or 0.42 points to end at 23.00 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) shed 1.69% or 0.020 points to 1.160.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 32 to 27 and 30 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.40% or 0.81 to $58.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $63.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.94 to trade at $1288.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.09% to 426.840, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 92.67.
