Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 5.17% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 3.92% or 0.72 points to end at 19.05 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was up 2.22% or 5.00 points to 230.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which lost 4.70% or 2.42 points to trade at 49.03 in late trade. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) declined 3.10% or 39.97 points to end at 1250.03 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) shed 1.26% or 0.12 points to 9.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 30 and 25 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.28% or 0.16 to $57.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.73% or 0.47 to hit $63.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.41 to trade at $1276.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.20% to 416.510, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 356.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 94.81.
