Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which rose 1.27% or 0.12 points to trade at 10.01 at the close. Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 0.95% or 0.53 points to end at 56.03 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was down 0.09% or 0.007 points to 7.642 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philips Kon (AMS:PHG), which lost 4.99% or 1.38 points to trade at 26.27 in late trade. Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) declined 4.83% or 4.96 points to end at 97.79 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) shed 2.62% or 0.46 points to 17.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 193 to 62 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.63% to 20.25.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.19 to $57.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.32% or 0.20 to hit $65.03 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.81% or 9.80 to trade at $1213.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.0963, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7161.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 96.31.
