Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Support Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 0.51% or 0.60 points to trade at 118.20 at the close. TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) added 0.45% or 0.034 points to end at 7.652 and KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) was up 0.03% or 0.001 points to 3.313 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which lost 2.39% or 5.55 points to trade at 227.10 in late trade. Philips Kon (AMS:PHG) declined 2.31% or 0.57 points to end at 24.36 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) shed 2.20% or 0.61 points to 27.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 180 to 58 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 10.51% to 21.87.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.94% or 0.57 to $60.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.04% or 0.68 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1179.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1278, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7251.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.85.
