Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AS:VOPA), which rose 0.71% or 0.28 points to trade at 40.50 at the close. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) added 0.70% or 0.20 points to end at 29.45 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 0.67% or 0.80 points to 119.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 1.64% or 0.39 points to trade at 23.14 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 0.95% or 0.027 points to end at 2.806 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) shed 0.77% or 0.190 points to 24.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 62 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 14.79% to 11.64.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.53% or 0.26 to $49.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $51.75 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.55 to trade at $1233.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0743, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8698.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.15.
