Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.66% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which rose 0.45% or 0.075 points to trade at 16.705 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell 0.04% or 0.02 points to end at 49.55 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.28% or 0.11 points to 39.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 3.57% or 0.29 points to trade at 7.84 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.12% or 2.860 points to end at 88.780 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 3.06% or 0.080 points to 2.532.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 14 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 21.27% to 31.21 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.03% or 1.85 to $59.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.81% or 1.82 to hit $62.99 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.2216, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8867.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 90.41.
