Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 0.18% or 0.04 points to trade at 22.53 at the close. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) added 0.15% or 0.07 points to end at 48.80 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.08% or 0.04 points to 50.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 5.52% or 0.294 points to trade at 5.036 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 4.59% or 0.995 points to end at 20.680 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) shed 3.97% or 1.62 points to 39.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 17 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 12.27% to 18.20.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.19% or 2.97 to $54.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.21% or 3.48 to hit $63.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1384, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8885.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 96.55.
