Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 2.65% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.44 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 1.56% or 0.60 points to end at 39.08 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was up 1.54% or 0.64 points to 42.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx PLC (AS:REL), which lost 3.96% or 0.725 points to trade at 17.590 in late trade. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 3.77% or 6.44 points to end at 164.18 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 3.61% or 1.94 points to 51.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 10.03% to 13.56.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.13% or 1.63 to $74.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.44% or 1.24 to hit $85.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1201.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1506, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 95.47.
