Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.11% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 0.88% or 0.40 points to trade at 45.77 at the close. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 46.72 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.12% or 0.06 points to 50.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 3.52% or 3.200 points to trade at 87.800 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.23% or 0.08 points to end at 2.37 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) shed 3.12% or 2.74 points to 84.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 28 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.48% to 15.03 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.69% or 0.51 to $73.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.99% or 0.83 to hit $83.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.33% or 16.00 to trade at $1189.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1478, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.52.
