Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.90% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which rose 0.71% or 0.40 points to trade at 57.04 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 0.32% or 0.13 points to end at 40.16 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.15% or 0.02 points to 15.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosus (AS:PRX), which lost 2.26% or 0.88 points to trade at 38.10 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 1.90% or 13.00 points to end at 671.90 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 1.87% or 10.60 points to 555.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 23 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.32% or 0.93 to $71.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.96% or 0.71 to hit $74.50 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 15.96 to trade at $2,615.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 108.04.
