Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which rose 0.65% or 0.52 points to trade at 79.98 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 0.59% or 0.14 points to end at 23.92 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 0.44% or 0.17 points to 39.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 3.85% or 1.035 points to trade at 25.815 in late trade. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) declined 2.75% or 0.61 points to end at 21.59 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.66% or 1.540 points to 91.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 36 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.04% to 14.11.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.44% or 0.33 to $74.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.14% or 0.12 to hit $84.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1205.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1510, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.39.
