Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 0.60% or 0.19 points to trade at 30.85 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 0.37% or 0.16 points to end at 43.91 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 0.11% or 0.05 points to 40.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which lost 2.07% or 1.30 points to trade at 61.42 in late trade. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) declined 1.75% or 1.02 points to end at 57.14 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) shed 1.70% or 2.65 points to 153.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 24 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 4.37% or 3.06 to $73.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 4.15% or 3.07 to hit $76.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.60 to trade at $2,670.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.80.
