Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.18% or 0.28 points to trade at 24.06 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 0.67% or 0.70 points to end at 105.55 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 0.63% or 0.36 points to 57.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which lost 3.78% or 1.67 points to trade at 42.48 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.38% or 0.52 points to end at 21.37 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) shed 1.54% or 2.05 points to 131.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 22 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.17% or 0.14 to $80.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $84.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 17.90 to trade at $2,312.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 105.68.
