Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 1.31% or 0.66 points to trade at 51.00 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.26% or 0.156 points to end at 12.584 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.99% or 0.900 points to 92.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 3.91% or 1.44 points to trade at 35.24 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 1.62% or 1.52 points to end at 92.02 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) shed 1.56% or 1.40 points to 88.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 56 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.66% to 12.56.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.59% or 0.40 to $67.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $72.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 8.50 to trade at $1222.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1695, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 94.41.
