Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 1.75% or 0.098 points to trade at 5.706 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.35% or 0.350 points to end at 26.350 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.21% or 1.02 points to 85.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.42% or 2.200 points to trade at 88.880 in late trade. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 2.07% or 0.92 points to end at 43.36 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 1.82% or 0.048 points to 2.591.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 55 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.30% to 14.69.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.44% or 0.92 to $62.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.13% or 0.76 to hit $66.53 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.25% or 16.70 to trade at $1316.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.2236, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8792.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 90.29.
