Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 15.62% or 0.29 points to trade at 2.14 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 3.00% or 0.076 points to end at 2.613 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 1.38% or 1.10 points to 80.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB), which lost 2.55% or 0.81 points to trade at 30.96 in late trade. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.82% or 2.82 points to end at 151.84 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) shed 1.45% or 0.56 points to 38.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.47% to 16.62.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.33% or 0.17 to $51.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.43% or 0.26 to hit $59.65 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.20 to trade at $1227.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 97.113.
