Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.68% or 0.490 points to trade at 29.700 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 1.28% or 0.232 points to end at 18.368 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.19% or 0.68 points to 58.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which lost 2.48% or 0.95 points to trade at 37.30 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 2.36% or 1.02 points to end at 42.12 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 2.33% or 0.22 points to 9.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.28% to 10.89.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.38% or 0.25 to $65.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.43% or 0.30 to hit $70.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 4.20 to trade at $1360.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.2485, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8755.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 88.57.
