Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB), which rose 1.09% or 0.45 points to trade at 41.76 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 0.79% or 0.55 points to end at 70.30 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 0.65% or 0.20 points to 30.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 1.46% or 0.54 points to trade at 36.50 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.16% or 0.056 points to end at 4.817 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 0.98% or 0.36 points to 36.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 59 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.78% to 10.79.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.87% or 0.44 to $49.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.41% or 0.23 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.39 to trade at $1276.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.29.
