Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Relx NV (AMS:RELX), which rose 2.07% or 0.300 points to trade at 14.785 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) added 2.00% or 0.30 points to end at 15.58 and NN Group (AMS:NN) was up 1.67% or 0.46 points to 27.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OCI (AMS:OCI), which lost 1.26% or 0.335 points to trade at 26.185 in late trade. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 0.38% or 0.03 points to end at 8.39 and Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) shed 0.37% or 0.07 points to 17.58.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 81 and 3 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.81% to 18.25 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.30% or 0.68 to $52.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.77% or 0.45 to hit $58.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1154.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1006, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7063.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.85.
