Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.28% or 0.485 points to trade at 21.715 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 1.70% or 0.49 points to end at 29.25 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 1.53% or 0.51 points to 33.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.49% or 1.010 points to trade at 66.600 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 0.74% or 0.15 points to end at 20.05 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 0.62% or 0.22 points to 35.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 50 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.59% to 11.07.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.38% or 0.63 to $46.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.40% or 0.67 to hit $48.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.23 to trade at $1216.87 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.67.
