Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 4.93% or 5.30 points to trade at 112.80 at the close. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) added 3.45% or 1.88 points to end at 56.44 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 3.27% or 1.42 points to 44.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.16% or 0.17 points to trade at 14.65 in late trade. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 0.77% or 0.12 points to end at 14.74 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) shed 0.45% or 0.20 points to 44.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 27 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.20% or 0.84 to $70.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.96% or 0.71 to hit $74.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.20% or 32.10 to trade at $2,707.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 107.62.
