Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 3.66% or 0.77 points to trade at 21.82 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 3.55% or 0.08 points to end at 2.45 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 3.21% or 4.82 points to 155.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 0.46% or 0.090 points to trade at 19.568 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 50.10 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) gained 0.30% or 0.032 points to 10.830.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 33 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.48% to 15.18.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.15% or 0.11 to $71.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.20% or 0.16 to hit $80.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1231.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1584, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.72.
