Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 5.56% or 44.80 points to trade at 850.50 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 4.45% or 27.00 points to end at 633.60 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) was up 3.29% or 0.70 points to 21.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 1.70% or 0.45 points to trade at 26.08 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.59% or 2.50 points to end at 155.10 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.23% or 0.20 points to 16.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.53% or 2.64 to $77.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.02% or 2.36 to hit $80.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 16.55 to trade at $2,468.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.96.
