Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.24% or 0.284 points to trade at 12.946 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.98% or 0.555 points to end at 28.600 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 1.84% or 0.67 points to 37.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which lost 1.30% or 2.50 points to trade at 189.60 in late trade. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) declined 0.31% or 0.13 points to end at 41.93 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.12% or 0.06 points to 50.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 40 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.72% to 11.92.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.52% or 0.34 to $66.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $76.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1304.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.58.
