Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 2.08% or 1.96 points to trade at 95.98 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 1.45% or 0.66 points to end at 46.10 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.33% or 9.60 points to 733.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which lost 2.25% or 0.90 points to trade at 39.16 in late trade. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.15% or 0.66 points to end at 56.78 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.47% or 0.32 points to 67.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 44 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.12% or 0.82 to $74.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.22% or 0.93 to hit $77.09 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.41% or 10.94 to trade at $2,683.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 109.00.
