Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which rose 2.57% or 1.04 points to trade at 41.54 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 1.89% or 0.340 points to end at 18.315 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.67% or 0.04 points to 2.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which lost 1.64% or 0.37 points to trade at 22.13 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 0.51% or 0.84 points to end at 164.88 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.44% or 0.420 points to 94.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 60 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.63% to 12.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.36% or 0.27 to $75.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.63% or 0.53 to hit $85.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1203.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1521, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.36.
