Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 2.41% or 0.60 points to trade at 25.49 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.87% or 3.40 points to end at 185.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.69% or 1.460 points to 88.080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx NV (AS:RELN), which lost 2.17% or 0.405 points to trade at 18.265 in late trade. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 1.69% or 0.80 points to end at 46.66 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.61% or 0.078 points to 12.722.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.57% to 10.52 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $66.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.89% or 0.68 to hit $76.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 5.80 to trade at $1307.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.43% to 1.1622, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8746.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.08% at 94.57.
