Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 4.22% or 4.17 points to trade at 102.95 at the close. Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) added 2.23% or 0.13 points to end at 5.86 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 1.62% or 11.20 points to 702.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 1.51% or 1.42 points to trade at 92.46 in late trade. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 0.97% or 11.60 points to end at 1,188.40 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) shed 0.81% or 0.23 points to 28.16.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 30 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.77% or 0.61 to $80.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.80% or 0.67 to hit $84.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 14.95 to trade at $2,343.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 104.87.
