Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Construction & Materials and Food Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 2.23% or 2.60 points to trade at 119.30 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 1.77% or 1.40 points to end at 80.62 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.41% or 0.29 points to 20.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which lost 0.36% or 0.12 points to trade at 32.19 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 0.16% or 0.03 points to end at 15.77 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.03% or 0.01 points to 15.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 34 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.13% or 0.83 to $72.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.87% or 0.67 to hit $76.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 5.95 to trade at $2,544.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 101.07.
