Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.43% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.40% or 0.91 points to trade at 38.61 at the close. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 2.21% or 0.80 points to end at 36.74 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.85% or 1.26 points to 69.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 0.81% or 0.31 points to trade at 38.01 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 0.73% or 0.021 points to end at 2.853 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 0.71% or 1.45 points to 202.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.81% to 10.69.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.50% or 0.78 to $51.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.37% or 0.79 to hit $56.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.24 to trade at $1289.04 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1781, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8765.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.04.
