Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 8.93% or 6.370 points to trade at 77.690 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 1.49% or 0.043 points to end at 2.925 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 1.14% or 0.50 points to 44.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 1.90% or 0.505 points to trade at 26.130 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.35% or 0.250 points to end at 18.240 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) shed 1.18% or 0.61 points to 51.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 52 and 3 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.06% to 10.17.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.32% or 0.18 to $57.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $63.16 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1257.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1775, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 93.86.
