Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.22% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.97% or 3.040 points to trade at 79.700 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.84% or 0.14 points to end at 7.86 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.20% or 2.00 points to 169.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 6.00% or 1.58 points to trade at 24.77 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.14% or 0.029 points to end at 2.507 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) shed 1.03% or 0.40 points to 38.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.53% to 10.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.28 to $70.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.18% or 0.91 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1319.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 92.25.
