Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.12% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 3.01% or 1.36 points to trade at 46.55 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 2.51% or 0.19 points to end at 7.60 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.35% or 0.35 points to 26.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 4.08% or 0.246 points to trade at 5.784 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 0.89% or 0.023 points to end at 2.573 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.70% or 0.094 points to 13.412.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 46 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.23% to 10.74 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.28% or 0.20 to $70.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.25% or 0.19 to hit $77.02 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 7.00 to trade at $1320.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1913, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8821.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.62.
