Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which rose 1.46% or 0.68 points to trade at 46.95 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.96% or 0.720 points to end at 75.600 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 0.86% or 0.30 points to 35.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 5.73% or 0.47 points to trade at 7.80 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 2.04% or 0.053 points to end at 2.546 and Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) shed 1.42% or 0.37 points to 25.69.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 49 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.03% to 11.90.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $68.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 5.90 to trade at $1323.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.2109, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 91.43.
