Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.20% or 0.42 points to trade at 35.79 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.16% or 0.335 points to end at 29.185 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 0.90% or 0.76 points to 85.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 2.09% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.347 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.42% or 0.074 points to end at 5.126 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.39% or 0.250 points to 17.790.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.37% to 15.29.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.63% or 2.47 to $70.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.35% or 1.75 to hit $76.30 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.20 to trade at $1262.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.21.
