Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 2.79% or 4.20 points to trade at 154.48 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.45% or 0.03 points to end at 2.17 and Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) was up 1.32% or 0.29 points to 22.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.50% or 1.400 points to trade at 92.240 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.27% or 0.52 points to end at 40.34 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 1.23% or 0.92 points to 73.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 56 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.51% to 16.27.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.28% or 1.44 to $61.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.13% or 1.56 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1227.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1424, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8726.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 96.06.
