Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Beverage, Pharmaceutical Industry and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Zellidja S.A (CS:ZELI), which rose 5.99% or 6.65 points to trade at 117.65 at the close. SMI (CS:SMI) added 5.92% or 184 points to end at 3290 and Centrale Danone (CS:CDA) was up 5.87% or 37 points to 667 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which lost 5.98% or 97 points to trade at 1526 in late trade. Brasseries Du Maroc (CS:SBM) declined 4.69% or 149 points to end at 3030 and Sonasid (CS:SOND) shed 2.77% or 18 points to 632.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 19 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.39% or 0.28 to $70.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $76.93 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.70 to trade at $1319.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.20% to 11.1700, while USD/MAD fell 0.21% to 9.3871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 92.65.
